Why Wii and Xbox are Killing the PS3

According to the Wall Street Journal, PS3 sales are declining due to the Wii and Xbox.

But just what are the issues with the PS3? We break it all down right here for you.

Overpriced

Since the PS3 costs $400 alone without the games and just one controller, you spend nearly $500 before you get to have much fun.

This is the main reason why PS3 sales have dropped by 19 percent and Wii sales doubled since the previous year. Xbox sales are up 8 percent since Microsoft cut the price.

No Exclusive Games

Titles mean everything when a trying to entice new buyers on any type of product. Microsoft has been successful with this, creating Gears of War and Halo. PS3 just hasn’t hit the jack pot yet.

Little Social Touches

Unlike the Wii, PS3 hasn’t added anything like the Wii’s “Mii”, the personalized character that the gamer uses when playing. While they do have a marketplace for PS3 users, it’s empty, and the competition is moving too quick for them to keep up.

Significantly Out-Marketed

Wii and Xbox have created a great brand awareness about their products which in turn, give the users a higher level of respect and loyalty to them. PS3 is just seen as a good gaming system, not a lifestyle as most see Wii and Xbox.

Too Slow

Plain and simple, the PS3 is just too slow. Loading games is slow and so is updating.
