In Sony’s attempt to compete with Apple’s iPod Touch, they’re going to be releasing their very own touch screen Sony Walkman, according to Sony’s Insider blog. The author of this post, who cites no information, says the new device features a 3-inch OLED screen, WiFi connectivity, a web browser, YouTube browser, and an integrated Amazon download store. If you’d like to see whether this myth is true or not, the gadget is supposed to be released at CES in January.
Experts speculate on this though, seeing as though most Sony products appear months before in Asia than they do in America. This is due to the tough marketing problems they run into in these more developed nations.
Another thing that tech freaks have a time understanding is why Sony would partner up with Amazon. We all know that Sony prefers to integrate their own systems first, but maybe they’re turning around and trying new things.
All in all, we don’t think it’s impossible for this device to pop up this 2009. In the event that it does hit the stores, we believe it’ll have a very hard time running with Apple’s iPod Touch.
