Blackberry Niagara

Research in Motion has seen some hard times over the last few months. With their mediocre release of the Bold and Storm, Research in Motion is barely holding on. It’s mostly due to the economic collapse, which has hurt the technological field severely.

This time around, RIM is hoping for more luck by releasing the Niagara. The Niagara, also known as the Blackberry Javelin or 9630, will be featured on the Verizon network thus far.

Some of the listed features for this phone include:

  1. 3.2 Mega pixel camera, one of the biggest upgrades RIM has made in their lineup.
  2. A GPS system, which has become a standard on all Smartphones.
  3. A audio player and media player, which can play MP3’s and many other file types.
  4. Many standard features will be included like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth capabilities, and an EV-DO connection. A standard 3G connection from ATT is faster than that of EV-DO. No 4G capabilities have been announced so far.
  5. A large 480 x 360 resolution VGA screen.
  6. Blackberry Operating System 4.7, as of now, which may change as the release date gets closer.

The phone is geared towards release in May.
