Android 2.4 to launch in April ?

It was believed that the update to follow Gingerbread could either be Ice Cream Sandwich or a new and updated version of Gingerbread. But according to rumors said to be coming out of ViewSonic, Android 2.4 would be a revamped version of Android 2.3 Gingerbread. This update would basically bring Honeycomb’s tablet only apps to cell phones. Honeycomb apps are specifically designed for dual core processors, this update would bring these apps to cell phones with single core processors. According to sources, this update was necessary because Gingerbread can’t run Honeycomb apps. This could be a hint that the ViewSonic ViewPad 4 due this April could come packed with Android 2.4. © Chethan for TechBuzz , 2011. | Permalink | No comment | Add to del.icio.us Post tags: Android , Android 2.4 , Honeycomb , ViewSonic Feed enhanced by Better Feed from Ozh
