2-for-1 Blackberry Sale!

While the title does sound great to us, this may mean the company might be facing some financial issues. Is it due to the current economic meltdown? Not too sure yet.

Verizon and RIM have begun a new campaign – a campaign to attack every single smartphone that’s currently for sale.

All eight smartphones that are available on Verizon’s website are eligible for the buy-one-get-one sale. Yes guys, this does include the all new Storm.

But what’s the catch? Not too much is asked from Verizon, except that you must activate both phones with seperate, two-year service contracts. So basically, you’re getting the device itself absolutely free, but paying the same amount for the two phones’ contracts.

While this does seem like a great deal from both RIM and Verizon and consumers, it is possible that RIM is losing some dough on this deal. But it’s not like we haven’t seen this happen before in this niche. Just take the iPhone situation with Apple…see here.

Verizon is expected to end this offer on March 31 of this year.
